Dear Maverick Students, Families, and Friends,
I'm truly looking forward to a fantastic 2025-2026 school year. The start of a new school year is always an exciting time, full of new opportunities, and I'm thrilled to serve you as your Principal. I want to extend a huge thank you to all the families who participated in our recent Parent Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback provides invaluable insight into what you value at John S. McCain Elementary and areas where we can improve. One key area identified was the desire for students to have a way to anonymously report bullying and other concerns. In response, the Buckeye Elementary School District will be rolling out an Anonymous Tip Line. We'll share more detailed information in the coming weeks. Our hope is that this new platform, combined with increased awareness of our on-campus counseling services, will significantly enhance our students' sense of comfort and safety at school. I'm genuinely excited for the new school year and eager to work collaboratively with all of you.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Erin Sims, and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at JSM. It is a privilege to be part of such a vibrant and dynamic community, and I am excited to work together to support the success and wellbeing of your children. With 18 years of teaching experience, behavior interventions, academic coaching and dean of students, I have dedicated my career to fostering environments where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally. My primary goal is to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Communication and collaboration with parents and guardians is crucial to the success of our students.
I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have. Together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment for our students. I look forward to meeting many of you in person and working together to ensure that your children have a rewarding and enriching experience at John S. McCain Elementary School.
